The historical center is close and easily accessible by scooter in two minutes (the scooter sharing station is thirty meters away) and on foot in six minutes, allowing our guests to reach the main cultural attractions in the city. Through Porta Carini, one of the ancient city gates of Palermo, built in 1310, you will enter the picturesque Capo Market, tucked in behind the Massimo Theatre, which was designed by Giovan Battista Filippo Basile and completed by his son Ernesto in 1897.
From the Theatre, you can walk along the fashionable shopping streets as via Ruggero Settimo and via Libertà or the multi ethnic via Maqueda, which leads to the Four Corners (Quattro Canti) and to Galati and Francavilla Palaces. Strolling through the old Cassaro, you will get to the Cathedral and the Norman Palace, the oldest royal residence in Europe. From Zisa Suite, within a 10-minute walking distance, you can also reach the Capuchin Catacombs, famous for its exposed skeletons and mummified bodies of religious and lay people.
